Awwwww yeah y'all, we're back on this favorite subject again!
{Gangsta Lene, shake yo bon-bon, honey.}
Last month, I posted about dance crazes that have swept the nation and how absolutely fascinating that is to me.
Millions of people watching a single YouTube video and turning it into flash mobs and bridal party entrances?
Social media {and sexy grooms} for the win!
And all this talk about move bustin' and booty droppin' got me to thinkin'.
I think we all have that one song that when we hear it break through the car speakers, the DJ's booth at da club {cue drunk girls: "OHMIGOD I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!!!!!"}, or just on our iPod while we get ready in the morning, makes us wanna wiggle our badonkies.
But, before I'm allowed to ask you what your song is, I guess I've gotta confess mine, eh?
Boy oh boy, promise not to think less of me. Don't judge. Just let the music move ya and see if you can put yourself in my Material Girl shoes.
Something about this song just does it for me, y'all.
Seriously, I go gospel soul and bust some crazy like you've never seen.
Now now now now now, before you get to thinking I actually like Madonna - NO. Really, I can't stand her. And her too-muscular arms freak me the eff out.
I just have nightmares that she'd strangle me with her pinky and then call me a virgin or something. *shudder*
But this song? Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiit, I'm gettin' my groove thang on just thinking about it!!!
Maybe it's when she "lets the choir sing."
Or perhaps the way it "feels like home" when he calls her name.
Or maybe it's simply that Mod Madigan wants to "take me there." Whatever that means.
Whew, heaven help me.
For real, I don't even know what the song is about. Or why the video has to be so damn creepy.
All I know is that I'm off to dance, Ellen DeGen style, until my entire audience joins me.
Come on choir, sing it with me, sistas!
Oh, and in case you were wondering exactly what it's like when my groove thang revs up...
One day they're gonna learn to stop letting me out of my cage so often.
Now you fools ain't gettin' off that easy. Spill it ~ what song makes your sexy body go bump bump bump?
{Name that band and you're my BFF.}
And lastly but not leastly today, I have a special request for all of my amazing readers!

i might have to do a blog post in response to this. would you mind? because we are soul mates and yes there are many jams that make me want to shake it. I wish I had a slight care about how others think of me. but I don't. I just love to dance...can we dance together?
and of course i will vote for moose!
That song pumps me up and makes me do crazy dance moves, too! That one, along with the Sister Act version of "Joyful, Joyful." Both have gospel choirs..I may have an obsession.
Bahahaha! I just love you. Mine is the cheesy 80s song "take me home tonight" by eddie money. Man, all sorts of dance moves come out of nowhere. My favorite singalong car song, i wear my sunglasses at night.. and you can bet i put my shades on, stare real creepy at cars next to me and belt that sucker ouuuut.
Ummm, B2K amazing. It seriously SO DIFFICULT to think about what my "one" song is because honestly I jam to just about everything. I'm kinda an 80s music lover though, so if Michael Jackson comes on I'm done for.... forget driving, functioning, etc, I'm shaking it like MJ-minus the crotch grabs!
PS- Kayla and I bust a move to Katy Perry.... as if you haven't already seen that on Youtube ;)
Yesss... I totally get jamming out to that song, the chorus. YES.
Me? Well... It depends on the dance. If I'm trying to drop it like it's hot, I need me some ghetto jams. Maybe some Lil Jon. But you know I always love to Party in the USA. My life soundtrack is a mind explosion.
It is so hard to pick just one song that I gotta dance too. The good ol' B2K boys can certainly get me bumpin', so can some 112. I have no shame, so I will admit that the ONE song that can get me movin' with a smile on my face no matter what mood I am it...Hot Action Cops Fever for the Flava. I am not sure what is wrong with me, and if you want to judge...its cool. That song will let my cray cray side come out!
I too can't stand Madonna, but that song is amazeballs. I almost started dancing in my chair at work just thinking about it. Good choice, my friend.
Oh and I liked that precious little pup. Far cuter than any other pup on there :)
HAHAHA I am the "car dancer" that people stare at because I feel like busting a move while driving. And at concerts when I drink a tiny bit to much..and girls stare at me b/c I might have no sense of dance.
I voted for him. He is so cute!
Ohhh god I love this! My favorite Madonna song is Holiday.. don't ask me why. I did go see her in concert with my Mom in October and it was awesome. I won't lie. The songs that always make me dance are some hardcore rap jams.. Toot It and Boot It. As embarrassing as it is that is my FAVORITE song to dance to. Reminds me of college.
B2K! Hahaha, had their CD during my "gangster stage" in junior high! Girl, you are hilarious! Right now I'm LOVING Ke$ha - Die Young. I normally don't like her at all, but I love that one!
P.S. I voted! :)

ok now dont laugh but when I used to go out and that song would come on no lie, I had a dance to it! oh yes...choreographed! lol...I was one of those girls and half the time I was SOBER! :-) not afraid to make an ass out of myself!
i have a lot of songs that I can jam out to but, Boy Like Me by Jessica harp, COUNTRY by LoCash Cowboys and New York groove by Kiss...are FAVORITES!!!
Um, did you just quote B2K? and quite possibly P Diddy? That song is my jam.
NO but for real, my REAL jam-- don't judge, is "look at me now" by Chris Brown and all those other guys. Ha! Or... chang chang by missy elliot. Freak! ;)
what a cute pup!!
You crack me up! Although Like a prayer has never gotten me grovin' I can appreciate that it has great energy.
My song is absolutely Rickety Springfield's 'Jesse's Girl' I break out my most impressive Molly Ringwald and let loose!
Also most disco will get me moving especially 'You Should Be Dancing' by the Bee Gees...because, as they say...you Should Be Dancing...yeah!
Sadly enough mine would be Katy Perry Firework... SINCE the music video premiered I have had a weird obsession with singing to this say song in my NOT at all singing voice at the top of my lungs. Awful I know, but I shared! :)
I can't stand Madonna but I do like some of her songs. Now my jam is Party in the USA or Call Me Maybe for sure.
Like A Prayer is a great one to let loose too!
I think my top choice would have to be Love Shack. If it's on, I'm singing at the top of my lungs, shaking may hair and dancing.
Nothing like a little B2K reference!!
I can't help myself when Hot In Herre comes on! I turn into a crazy person.
B2K, baby! They were all over my walls as a preteen/teen! Love them! (Lil Fizz was just,...mmm)
I love this post, just so you know!
I can't pick that ONE right now, I seriously need to think about it..
I might have to do a post like this! If so, I'll let you know & definitely link to you for being the inspiration! lol
I do hate me some Madonna. I once had a dream in elementary school, that I still remember vividly to this day where she was chasin' me around my house with a machete tryin' to kill my ass. I was so scared to go to sleep for dayssss.
I do like "Like a Prayer" though ... yes, the "Let the Choir singggg" part is the climax.
All of my booty shakin music consists of rap, and I love the Rolling Stones song, "Honky Tonk Woman". And I ain't ashamed! :)
Okay! I voted for Moose under his photo. I'm Molly Mellinger! Hope he wins - very sweet of you to support your mom this way using your blog!
HAHAHAHA!
I love to dance. I am terrible. But I love it.
My guilty song is....Baby Got Back.
I know, I know. I can't help it-it just gets me moving every time I hear it.
BTW Madonna's arms really ARE terrifying.
Yeah her arms are way insane.
I can't pick a fav song cuz there really are a ton that I think ooh that's my jam lol
I also go crazy for Like a Prayer. Friends of ours played it at their wedding in October and we were all out there singing and getting DOWN.
That, my friend, is B2K. What whaaaat!
I actually have way too many songs to even count. Basically if it has a good beat, I'm going to freak out and get down. My and my friends' song in college was this though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GP_l4L_TiIM
My aunt and uncle promptly escorted my cousins out of the wedding reception when this song came on.
I voted for that sweet puppy!
My song will forever & always be ANYTHING by the Spice Girls. I am not ashamed to admit in 4th grade I cried when they came on stage at their concert & I may or may not have cried when they performed at the London Olympics Closing Ceremony. And I may or may not have thanked the good Lord that my ankle was sprained & I was stuck home alone so no one could witness my preteen hysteria.
